It was a regular weekday when I received an inquiry that sounded pretty straightforward on the surface:
“We’re a cleaning company based in Switzerland, and we need a website.”
Now, I’ve heard this request before — but there was something different about ZClean.
They weren’t just looking for a few static pages or an online brochure. The founders had a bigger dream. They wanted to redefine how cleaning services were booked and experienced across Switzerland — and they were starting from zero.
No branding. No previous website. No digital footprint.
Just ambition, clear values, and a vision for cleaner homes, smarter systems, and happier clients.
This wasn’t going to be just another web project. This was a blank canvas begging for impact.
The ZClean team had one clear goal:
“We want our website to feel like a breath of fresh air.”
Their existing process relied heavily on back-and-forth calls, manual entries, and time-consuming quotes. They needed a platform where users could:
It had to look great, work fast, and build trust instantly. In Switzerland — where precision, punctuality, and aesthetics are everything — this bar was set high.
So, the journey began.
Since there was no existing design or content, I kicked things off by understanding their target audience. Most of their clients were busy professionals, small offices, and young families — people who value speed, clarity, and trust.
I chose WordPress as our foundation — not just for flexibility, but because it allowed room for future features and marketing efforts. The vibe? Clean, light, Swiss-inspired. Lots of white space, soothing tones, and minimalist icons.
But what truly made this project exciting wasn’t the tech stack. It was how much freedom and trust the ZClean team gave me to bring their vision to life.
This wasn’t about showcasing a company — it was about designing a customer journey.
Imagine you’re a user:
You land on the homepage. No clutter. Just clarity. A soft animation welcomes you. Headings speak directly to you. “Need a spotless home or office? Let us handle the mess.”
One scroll down — you see services tailored to your needs, not generic jargon. Another scroll, and you can check availability and get a quick quote.
No noise. No confusion. Just action.
That was the mindset I applied to every single page. Every button, icon, and image had a purpose.
ZClean didn’t want to overwhelm users with complex menus or over-explained services. They wanted their clients — who are often in a rush — to make decisions in under 2 minutes.
So I added:
Even better? Everything was mobile-optimised. Because guess what? Over 70% of their users would book from their phones.
We all know the power of a good review. So I built a testimonials section that didn’t feel like an afterthought. Real stories, real names, even profile images where possible.
It gave users the confidence they needed. “If it worked for them, it’ll work for me too.”
Midway through the development, we hit a tricky spot.
ZClean’s team operated with a unique internal calendar system — something not easily compatible with most booking tools. We needed to make sure form submissions triggered real-time alerts, didn’t overlap with existing appointments, and fit into their manual workflow.
After a few late nights and custom tweaks, we found a solution that synced perfectly without the need for third-party apps. A huge win.
Another hurdle? Explaining a LOT of services without overwhelming the user.
Instead of cramming it all on one page, I designed micro landing pages for each category — home, office, deep cleaning, etc.
Users only saw what they needed, when they needed it.
When the website launched in August 2023, the response was overwhelming — in the best way.
In just two months, ZClean saw a significant increase in bookings. Their team told me they saw a noticeable reduction in repetitive customer queries, and a 30% faster booking process overall.
But beyond stats, it was the confidence that changed everything.
They were no longer chasing leads — clients were finding them.
Their new digital presence positioned them as one of the most polished and accessible cleaning services in the Swiss market.
Our new website is exactly what we needed — clean, modern, and super easy to use. The booking form works like a charm, and our customers love how smooth the process is. It's made a real difference to our business!
